Date and time formats
Choose how dates and times are written in every app, or follow your device.
Who can do thisEvery user
The Date and time card on My profile decides how dates and times are written for you in every Juvaro application. It is separate from your language: as the card puts it, you can read English and still see day-first dates. Each person sets this for themselves.
Choose your formats
- Open My profile from the account menu on the Launch Pad.
- Scroll down to the Date and time card.
- Under Date, choose Follow my device or one of the formats. Each format is shown as a sample date with a short note on where it is common.
- Under Time, choose Follow my device, 24-hour - 17:05 or 12-hour - 5:05 PM.
There is no save button. The card saves as soon as you change a choice, showing Saving… and then Saved. Until you choose, both are set to Follow my device, which means your browser's own settings decide.
The date formats
Besides Follow my device there are eleven date formats. The table shows each one with 4 March 2026 as the example, and the note the card shows next to it. The notes are in English in every language.
| Format | Example | Note in the card |
|---|---|---|
| dd/MM/yyyy | 04/03/2026 | UK, Ireland, Australia, India, most of Europe |
| MM/dd/yyyy | 03/04/2026 | United States |
| yyyy-MM-dd | 2026-03-04 | ISO 8601, Sweden, international standard |
| dd.MM.yyyy | 04.03.2026 | Denmark, Germany, Norway, Finland, Poland, Czechia |
| dd-MM-yyyy | 04-03-2026 | Netherlands, Indonesia |
| yyyy/MM/dd | 2026/03/04 | Japan, China, Taiwan |
| MM-dd-yyyy | 03-04-2026 | United States (variant) |
| d MMM yyyy | 4 Mar 2026 | Unambiguous |
| MMM d, yyyy | Mar 4, 2026 | Unambiguous |
| d MMMM yyyy | 4 March 2026 | Unambiguous, long |
| MMMM d, yyyy | March 4, 2026 | Unambiguous, long |
If you work with colleagues in other countries, the formats with a written month name (for example 4 Mar 2026) can never be misread: 04/03 is 4 March in Denmark but 3 April in the United States.
Where it applies
- The setting belongs to you, not to the device, and every Juvaro application uses it.
- It only changes how dates and times look. It does not change any date that is stored.
- Your time zone is a separate setting: Account & securityPreferencesTime zone. That one is saved on the current device only. See Account & security.
If the choice is not saved
The card shows the reason under the choices:
- That date format is not one we offer. Pick one from the list.
- That time format is not one we offer. Pick one from the list.
Both mean the value sent was not one of the options above. Reload the page and pick again from the list.
