Choosing and switching workspaces

The workspace picker you see when you belong to more than one workspace, and how to switch later.

Who can do thisEvery user

One Juvaro account can belong to several workspaces, for example your own company and a customer you work for. Each workspace is separate: it has its own apps, seats, roles and administrators. You always work in one workspace at a time, and the portal shows its name at the top.

The workspace picker

If your account belongs to more than one workspace, the portal shows the picker right after you sign in (and after you have chosen your own password, if you had a temporary one). The picker is in English whatever your language. It says Where to and Choose a workspace, with the hint "You have access to more than one. Pick the workspace to work in - you can switch any time from the profile menu."

PictureThe picker appears only when you belong to more than one workspace. It is English only.
  1. Find the workspace in the list. The workspace you are in now is marked Current.
  2. Click its row. The row shows Switching… for a moment.
  3. The Launch Pad opens with that workspace's apps.

With only one workspace you never see the picker, and the portal takes you straight to the Launch Pad.

Switch later

You can change workspace at any time:

  • On the Launch Pad, open the account menu at the top right and choose Switch workspace. The name of the workspace you are in is shown under the menu item.
  • On the administration pages, open your profile menu at the right of the top bar and choose Switch workspace.

Either way the picker opens. The menu item is hidden when you belong to only one workspace.

After a switch, everything in the portal belongs to the new workspace: the Launch Pad tiles, your role, and the administration pages if you are a Tenant Admin there. When you open an app from the Launch Pad, it opens in the workspace you are in now.

Tip

The Your workspaces card on Account & security lists every workspace your account belongs to, with a Home badge and the sign-in method each one uses. See Account & security.

When a switch fails

The picker tells you plainly when a switch did not happen. The messages are in English:

MessageWhat it means and what to do
"That workspace is not available to you any more - your access may have been removed. Sign out and back in to refresh the list."The workspace said no. An administrator there may have removed or deactivated you. Sign out and in again; if the workspace is still listed and still refuses, ask its administrator.
"We could not reach the server, so the switch did not happen. You are still in the workspace you were in. Please try again."A network or server problem. Nothing changed. Try again in a moment.
"Your sign-in began before this app was given access, so it cannot open that workspace - trying again will not help. Sign out and back in, then choose it again."Your sign-in is older than your access to that workspace. Trying again gives the same result. Sign out, sign in, and choose the workspace again.

No workspaces

If your account is not a member of any workspace, the picker shows No access yet and No workspaces: "Your account is not a member of any workspace yet. Ask an administrator to invite you - once they do, it will appear here the next time you sign in." This also happens after you have left your only workspace or been removed from it.
