Leaving a group
Leave a group from My profile, and why some groups show a lock instead.
Who can do thisEvery user
Groups bundle people together, and a group can give all its members the same access: a platform role and access to apps, each with a role. You can see your groups on My profile, and you can leave a group yourself when the administrator allows it.
See your groups
Open My profile from the account menu and find the Groups & teams card. For each group you see its picture, name and description, and small chips for the access the group gives you, for example an app with a role. On the right of each row is either Leave or a lock.
If you are in no groups, the card says "You're not in any groups yet." The card is in English whatever your language.
Leave a group
- On the group's row, click Leave.
- The button shows Leaving…, and then the page confirms "You left the group."
There is no "are you sure?" step: one click is enough. To join the group again, you need a Tenant Admin to add you.
Leaving a group also takes away the access that came from it. If the group gave you an app or a platform role, you lose it, unless you also have it directly or through another group. Look at the chips on the row before you click. A change in access can take up to about 5 minutes to reach the apps.
Why some groups show a lock
Instead of Leave, a group can show a lock with one of two texts:
| Lock text | What it means | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Managed by your IT | The group comes from your company's identity provider or directory. Membership is controlled there, not in Juvaro. | Ask your IT department to take you out of the group in the directory. |
| Required by admin | A Tenant Admin has made membership required. Hovering over the lock shows "Required by your administrator". | Ask your Tenant Admin to remove you, or to allow members to leave. |
For Tenant Admins
Whether members can leave a group is set by the switch Members can leave this group on the group's page under Groups. Groups that come from directory sync can never be left in the portal. Removing a member yourself, linking access to a group and archiving a group are described in Groups.
