Creating a company

The new account form, the duplicate warning, and an archived company that comes back.

  6. Type the person's name and any other details.

  9. She carries the Primary chip. A company has one primary contact at a time.
WalkthroughCreate a company, then add a person to it. Only the company name and the person's name are required.

Create a company

  1. On Accounts, click New account.
  2. Type the Company name. Add the CVR if you know it: eight digits with a check digit, so a mistyped digit is refused rather than attaching the wrong company's work.
  3. Fill in what else you know: VAT number, email, phone, website, registered in (two letters, such as DK), industry, size, currency (three letters; leave it empty for the workspace billing default), lifecycle and the two addresses. A new company starts as Prospect.
  4. Click Create account. You land on the new account page.

Custom fields are not on this form. Fill them in afterwards with Edit; see Editing a company and its custom fields.

The duplicate warning

If similar companies exist, CRM warns "This may already be in the customer master" and lists them with the reason: Same CVR, Almost the same name or Same email domain, each with Open. Check them. If yours really is new, the button now says Create anyway.

Two companies can never share a CVR: "Another account already holds that CVR or that reference."

An archived company comes back

If an archived company already holds the CVR you typed, CRM brings that company back instead of creating a new one: "An archived company came back". Click Open the account to see it. Its contacts and history are still there.

Add the first contact

On the new account page, use Add a contact in the Contacts card. See Contacts on a company.
