Load a customer register, check what will happen, then import. Companies only.

Load an existing customer register into CRM from a CSV file. The file is read in your browser and checked by the server; nothing is saved until you press import. The importer creates and updates companies only. There is no import for people: add contacts on each company afterwards.

  1. On Accounts, click Import from a file. Any CRM user can import.
  2. Start from the template if you like: 22 English column headers, no rows. Then click Choose a CSV file.
  3. CRM reads the file in your browser and says what it recognised.
  4. The check shows what each row would do. Line 9 will not run: an earlier row used the same CVR.
  5. Nothing is saved yet. Click Import 47 rows.
  6. The result says what the import did. Open the account list, or import another file.

Import a file

  1. On Accounts, click Import from a file. The page Import accounts from a file opens at step 1, Choose a file.
  2. If you need a starting point, click Download the template: the file juvaro-crm-accounts-template.csv with the 22 column headers and no rows. The headers are English in every language.
  3. Click Choose a CSV file, or paste rows (header line first) under Or paste the rows and click Read the pasted rows. Commas, semicolons and tabs are all recognised.
  4. Step 2, Check what will happen, counts new companies, retired companies returning, existing companies changed and rows that will not run, and lists every line with its key, the planned action and what the check said.
  5. Click Import {n} rows.
  6. Step 3, Result, shows What the import did: Created, Brought back, Updated and Not written. Click Open the account list or Import another file.

How rows are matched

  • External reference and CVR are the keys. A row that matches an existing company updates it; a row that matches an archived company brings it back.
  • A row with neither key can only create. Importing the same file twice then creates a second copy.
  • An empty cell leaves the stored value alone. An import cannot empty a field; use the edit page.
  • Column headers are matched loosely: case, spaces and punctuation are ignored. A column nothing recognises is listed and ignored.
  • A company the import creates gets the origin Imported. A file cannot set the origin, the owner or the parent company.

Rows that will not run

  • An earlier row in the same file used the same key: only the first one runs.
  • The reference names one company and the CVR a different one.
  • A value the register refuses, such as an invalid CVR.

At most 1,000 rows per file. Split a larger register.
