Public holidays and company days
The Danish holiday pack, the customary half days, your own company days and the Preview.
Who can do thisHR Administrator
Holidays are not counted as working days. When an employee asks for a week that contains a public holiday, the holiday is left out of the days they pay for.
Public holidays
HCM has one built-in country pack: Denmark (DK). It is set by default and calculates the holidays for any year. The statutory days are always observed as full days:
Nytårsdag, Skærtorsdag, Langfredag, Påskedag, 2. påskedag, Kristi himmelfartsdag, Pinsedag, 2. pinsedag, Juledag and 2. juledag. St. Bededag counts only up to and including 2023.
The customary days are off until you turn them on: Grundlovsdag (5 June), Juleaftensdag (24 December) and Nytårsaftensdag (31 December).
- Open SettingsHolidays.
- In the Public holidays card, turn on each customary day you give.
- For each one, choose Half day (the default) or Full day.
- Click Save.
Company days
Add your own days off, such as the Friday after Kristi himmelfartsdag.
- In the Company days card, click Add company day.
- Pick the Date, give it a Name and set Counts as to Full day or Half day.
- Click Save.
- A company day wins over a public holiday on the same date.
- Only one company day per date: "There's already a company day on 2027-05-07. Remove that one first, or pick another date."
- Remove deletes a company day at once, without asking.
Preview
The Preview card lists every holiday for a chosen Year, from last year to two years ahead: Date, Name, Kind ("Statutory" or "Customary") and Counts as. A holiday on a Saturday or Sunday is marked "falls on a weekend".
Good to know
- Working days are Monday to Friday. A half-day holiday removes half a day.
- The working days of a request are fixed when it is sent. Adding a company day later does not change requests already made.
- There is no "no holidays" option and no pack for other countries.
