Country policy templates
Prefill a leave type from the Denmark or the generic template, and what the "modified" mark means.
Who can do thisHR Administrator
A policy template fills in the accrual fields of a leave type for you. It is a starting point, not a rule that stays in force.
The two templates
| Denmark - ferieloven | Generic - monthly accrual | |
|---|---|---|
| Days per year | 25 | 25 |
| Days arrive | Month by month (2.08 a month) | Month by month |
| Holiday year starts | 1 September | 1 January |
| Can be taken for | 16 months (to 31 December the year after) | 12 months |
| Carryover cap | 5 days | 5 days |
| Country stamp | DK | None |
Both carry the same caveat: "A starting point, not legal advice - check it against your own collective agreement before you rely on it."
Apply a template
- Open the leave type with Edit, or add a new one.
- Under Policy template, choose from "Choose a country template…".
- Click Apply. HCM fills the accrual fields and shows a summary with "Before you rely on it:" and the caveat.
- Adjust anything that differs in your agreement, then click Save.
The stamp and "modified"
- After the Denmark template, the type is stamped DK and the Policy template column shows a blue "Denmark - ferieloven" chip.
- If you later change an accrual field by hand, the chip reads "Denmark - ferieloven (modified)".
- Applying the generic template clears the stamp. The dialog explains: "Seeded from DK. Applying the generic template clears the stamp; hand-editing the accrual knobs above marks it "modified" in the list."
