What changed in the October 2026 release

Everything new for HCM users from August to October 2026, newest first, with links to the details.

October 2026 release

Leave no longer goes to a manager who cannot decide it. @manager:L1 walks past terminated managers and managers without an account, and someone at the top of the chart now routes to HR instead of being refused.
Approving checks the balance again. A request that no longer fits is refused with "The leave balance no longer covers this request."
Pending requests hold their days. The balance card shows "N pending approval".
An overdraft at year end carries into the next year as a negative carry-in.
Leave next year is charged to next year. Statements show only holiday years that have opened.
A request can cover at most a year.

A change can be dated inside an earlier period and carries forward into later ones. The form fills itself from the chosen date and warns about planned changes. The refusal message now names the two dates still refused. See Recording a change in History.

My profile and Account settings open the right Tenant Portal pages; document storage fixed.
Managers see only their own reporting line on the team calendar.
Job title, department and manager change only through History; the Edit dialog shows them read-only. Managers and departments from another workspace are refused.

28 September: Flexshop can ask HCM for a person's line manager. See Flexshop and the line manager.

25 to 26 August: the workspace picker shows a clear message when something fails. The HCM glyph appears in the top bar tile.
