Read the chart
- People without a manager are at the top. Their reports are indented below them.
- The card shows how many people the chart covers, for example "12 people".
- Click ▾ next to a manager to fold their branch, and ▸ to open it again.
- A name takes you to the Employees list, not to the person's record.
Look at a past date
- Pick a date in As of.
- The note under the chart says "Reporting structure as of 01/03/2026 - a manager change or hire since then is reflected."
- Click Today to return.
Change the chart
You change the chart by changing managers. Open the employee, click Edit, and record a Manager change in History with the date it takes effect. See Recording a change in History.
Who else sees a chart
- Managers see their own branch as "Your team's reporting line" on Team. See Your reporting line and the employee roster.
- Approval rules with
@manager:L1and Flexshop's Manager step both read the chart, so keep it up to date.
