The Approvals page lists the leave approval steps routed to you. HCM sends no email and has no bell, so open this page regularly.

| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Step | The approval rule behind the step, for example "@manager:L1", which means the requester's direct manager. A step for a role shows the role's code, for example "hcm_admin" for HR administrators. The column names the rule, not a person. |
| Approver | Who the step belongs to: a person's name for a manager step, or a role such as "HR administrator" or "Manager". If HCM cannot look up the name, it shows "Manager". |
| Status | The step's status in lowercase: "ready" (amber, yours to decide now), "waiting" (grey, an earlier step must finish first), "approved", "rejected" or "skipped". |
| Ready since | When the step became ready, in your browser's date and time format. |
With nothing to do, the card says "Nothing to decide".
Open a step
Click a row. A card opens below with the step and approver as its title, the leave details, the decision bar (for a ready step) and the approval timeline. Close hides it again. See Approving or rejecting a leave request.
Why "@manager:L1"?
An approval rule with @manager:L1 means "the requester's direct manager". HCM finds that person when the employee sends the request, and puts them in the Approver column. The Step column keeps the rule's text. "@manager:L2" means the manager's manager. See Approval rules and routing to managers.
Steps you may see
- Your own reports' requests, when a rule routes to
@manager:L1. - Requests from further down your line, for
@manager:L2and up. - Requests routed to a role you hold, for example every request that falls back to HR administrators.
- Steps delegated to you by a colleague who is away. See Delegating approvals while you are away.
You never decide your own request, even if a rule would route it to you.
