The product pop-up and your budget
Specifications, In the box, and what an item does to your budget before you add it.
Open a product's name to see everything about it before you add it. The pop-up opens from a card on Browse or the Marketplace, from a line in your basket, and from a line on a request page.
What it shows
- A picture, or the category's icon, with the source badge.
- Brand and category, the name, and the price: excl. VAT and "{price} incl. VAT". A second-hand device shows its "asking price".
- The stock line and the description.
- Specifications and In the box, when the shop has filled them in.
- From the shop: on a second-hand device, the notes a buyer should know.
What it does to your budget
The budget panel shows the item against your budget for this budget year:
- "Uses {item} of your {annual} for {year}".
- A bar with Spent, Waiting for approval, In the basket, This item and what is Left, or Over.
- "You will have {left} left after this." When requests are waiting, they are counted too.
- Over budget: the pill Over budget and "This goes {over} over your budget. A request over budget may need an extra approval."
- At the foot: "{leftNow} left now · prices excl. VAT · budget year {start} to {end}".
Over budget is a warning, never a block. You can still add the item; the request then gets a Finance step.
The one button
Add to basket for anything that goes through a request. On a second-hand device sold to you personally, the button is Buy for {price}, and pressing it buys the device at once; see Buy second-hand on the Marketplace. A device bought privately does not use your budget.
On a phone the pop-up opens as a sheet from the bottom of the screen.
