Put a product on the shelf

List a product from the Webmercs catalogue, from Bought before, or by hand, and choose who sees it.

To let employees request something, you put it on the shelf. You are deciding what employees can request, not creating a product: the price and stock of a Webmercs product stay with the webshop.

  1. On the Storefront, Line presses List a product.
  2. The dialog Put a product on the shelf opens on the connected Webmercs catalogue. She searches for t14.
  3. She picks the ThinkPad T14s Gen 5. The T14 Gen 5 is marked already listed, and the Gen 4 comes from Bought before.
  4. The dialog fills in the shelf price and the stock from the webshop and shows which rule applies: 2 approval steps, Supporter then Manager.
  5. She checks the preview What the employee sees and presses Put it on the shelf.
  6. The product is on the Storefront list as Listed, and employees see it on Browse straight away.

Put a product on the shelf

  1. On SHOPStorefront, press List a product.
  2. Under Where the product comes from, choose:
    • From a connected catalogue: "{count} products from {source}. Price, stock and the description are read from there." The line "Last synced {when}" has Refresh now.
    • Add it manually: "For something neither system sells." Flexshop keeps the name and the price.
  3. For a catalogue product, search with Search the catalogue and pick a row. Rows show Webshop or Bought before, "Last ordered {date}", "already listed" or "No longer orderable". Show more loads more rows.
  4. Under Who can see it on the shelf, choose Everyone or one or more budget groups.
  5. Check the Shelf price (excl. VAT). With Keep it up to date on, the price follows the webshop's price. Switch it off to pin the price you typed.
  6. Read What happens when someone requests it: "Approved automatically", "One approval step" or "{count} approval steps". This is the approval rule the product would hit.
  7. Choose Availability: follow the webshop's stock, or Always available. Set the Shelf category and up to 6 Spec tags on the card (each at most 30 characters).
  8. Check What the employee sees, then press Put it on the shelf, or Add it hidden to save it without showing it yet.

Prices: follow or pin

  • A price can follow the webshop only when the webshop gives it in DKK.
  • A pinned price is flagged on the Storefront when the webshop's price moves more than 10%.
  • A Bought before product opens pinned, with the last paid price filled in: "Follows the last paid price". The webshop may charge a different price today.
  • A price of 0 is allowed only for something that really is free. Rules that approve small amounts automatically never approve a request for a free item; it goes to the next rule instead.

If it is refused

  • "That product is already on the shelf."
  • "Enter a price of 0 or more, for example 1,850.00."
  • "That product is no longer orderable from the webshop."

Listing writes nothing to Asset Management. See The Webmercs catalogue and Bought before for where the catalogue comes from.
