Grade a return and put it on the marketplace

Pick a grade, set the terms and the price, confirm the wipe, and publish with Move into the marketplace.

A graded return reaches the marketplace through the dialog Move into the marketplace. Open it from the return's Next step on Returns.

PictureGrading and publishing. How it is paid decides the button employees get: The employee buys it gives the one-click Buy it.

Fill in the dialog

  1. Condition sets the price. Pick a grade card: Like new ("No visible wear, fully working"), Good ("Light wear, fully working"), Fair ("Visible wear, working") or Salvage ("Faulty, for parts or recycling"). Each card shows the resale price it gives.
  2. What a buyer should know. Short notes, shown on the card employees see.
  3. Price. From the grade uses the new price times the grade's multiplier. Asking price lets you type your own; then you must choose Why the override: Visible wear beyond the grade, Missing parts or accessories, Battery weaker than the grade suggests, Matched to the market price, or Priced to sell. Overrides are logged and shown on the Marketplace list.
  4. Who can see it, and how it is paid. Visible to is always All employees ("Showing a listing to some groups only comes later."). Choose How it is paid and the Category.
  5. Tick Wiped and signed out. Publishing is refused without it: "Confirm the device is wiped and signed out of every account." Tick Charger included if it is.
  6. Check What the employee sees, then press Publish to the marketplace, or Save as a draft to finish later.

How it is paid: the most important choice

TermsEmployee's buttonWhat happens
The company pays for itAdd to requestThe device goes in the basket and through approval and the budget like any other item. Submitting reserves it; delivery makes it Sold.
The employee buys itBuy itThe first click buys the device. There is no confirmation and no approval, and it never touches the budget. Payment is settled through payroll, outside Flexshop.
Buy it is final on the first click

Choose The employee buys it only for devices you are ready to sell at that price to whoever clicks first. There is no undo for the employee. See Buy second-hand on the Marketplace.

When it cannot be listed

  • "This grade has no resale, so it cannot be listed. Recycle it from the Returns list." Grade D always gives this.
  • "Nobody has recorded what this device cost new, so there is no price to list it at."
  • "Choose how it is paid and its category."

Moving a device into the marketplace writes nothing to Asset Management. If the device is still assigned to someone there, close the assignment in Asset Management yourself; see Assign and take back an asset.
