Delivery tracking from Webmercs
How often tracking is read, what the phases mean, and why it never marks a request delivered.
When a request has been ordered through Webmercs, Flexshop reads the order's status and tracking from Webmercs and shows it to the admin and to the employee.
How often it is read
- Every time someone opens the request, at most once every five minutes.
- Once an hour in the background.
- For 60 days after the order. After that the last known state stays.
The admin's Vendor order card says when it was last read: "Checked with the vendor {when}". If the last check got no answer: "The last check with the vendor got no answer, so this may be out of date."
The phases
| Admin console | Employee portal |
|---|---|
| Received by the vendor | The vendor has your order. |
| Being processed by the vendor | The vendor is getting your order ready. |
| Shipped, with "Shipped {when}", the tracking number and Track the parcel | Your order is on its way. "Shipped {date}", "Tracking number {number}" and Track your parcel |
| Cancelled by the vendor | Not shown as a phase; the admin tells the employee. |
| Status not recognised, with "Vendor status: {status}" | Not shown |
See Follow a vendor order and Follow your requests.
Tracking never delivers
Flexshop never sets a request to Delivered from the vendor's tracking, not even when the parcel is shown as delivered. Only the employee's Confirm that it arrived does. See Confirm that your kit arrived.
Tracking exists only for orders sent through Flexshop to Webmercs. A request recorded as ordered by hand has no tracking.
