Budgets and total cost of ownership
Set yearly budgets per asset type and read what each asset has cost so far.
Budgets compare what you plan to spend per year with what you actually spent. The Total cost of ownership card shows what one asset has cost so far.
Add a budget
- Open AdministrationBudgets.
- Click Add budget.
- Set Applies to (an asset type, or All assets), the Year, the Amount, the Currency (DKK, EUR or USD) and, optionally, Notes.
- Click Save.
Each row shows Budget and Actual; actuals are worked out when you open the page. A row over its budget is marked Over budget, and the Dashboard counts exceeded budgets under Needs attention. Use Previous year and Next year to move between years. Saving a budget for another year tells you to switch the year selector to see it.
One budget per type and year: a second is refused with "A budget for that type and year already exists. Edit it instead."
Total cost of ownership
On an asset page, the Total cost of ownership card adds up Purchase, Lease share and Maintenance, minus Proceeds from a sale, into a Total. Book value is shown too, but is not part of the total.
Depreciation
For a type with straight-line depreciation switched on, the Depreciation card shows Purchase value, Book value, Accumulated, Monthly, Useful life, Salvage value and Method. See Asset types.
Budgets and the cost card need the Budgets & TCO feature switch.
