Audits: scan to verify

Count the assets on site by scanning or typing their tags, and see what is found, missing or unexpected.

An audit is a physical count: you walk a location, scan or type each asset tag you find, and AMS tells you what is found, missing or unexpected.

Open Audits

Open Audits in the sidebar under Operations. It is shown to Auditors and Application Administrators when the workspace has the Audits feature switched on. Application Administrators also find it as a card on the Administration page.

Run an audit

  1. Click New audit, give it a Name, pick the Location (or All locations) and the Expected count, and save.
  2. Click Start scanning.
  3. In Scan or type an asset tag…, scan a QR label with a scanner or type the tag, and press Verify. On a phone or tablet, Scan with camera uses the camera instead.
  4. Repeat for every asset you find. The progress reads "38 of 42 verified".
  5. Click Finish when you are done.

Come back later with Continue scanning. Scanned the wrong thing? Undo scan.

  3. Verify.
  4. Verified: the laptop moves from Missing to Found, and the count reads 39 of 42. She scans the next tag.
  5. Verify.
  6. This drill is registered at another location, so it is Unexpected. Undo scan takes a wrong scan back.
WalkthroughScan to verify. Each tag lands in Found, or in Unexpected when the asset is registered somewhere else; what is left is Missing.

What a scan says

ResultMeans
VerifiedThe asset belongs here and is now counted.
Already scannedIt was counted before.
Unexpected (wrong location)The asset exists but is registered somewhere else.
Unknown tagNo asset has this tag.

The results are grouped as Found, Missing and Unexpected. Audit results are kept, so a scanned asset can no longer be deleted.

QR labels come from Print labels on the asset list; see Search, filter and print labels. Audits need the Audits feature switch.
