Onboarding packages
Bundle assets, software seats and tasks into a package that onboarding runs are built from.
A package is an ordered bundle of assets, software seats and tasks, for example "New developer": a laptop, a monitor, a Microsoft 365 seat and "Create AD account". Starting an onboarding run turns it into steps for one person.
Create a package
- Open AdministrationOnboarding packages and click New package.
- Enter the Name and, optionally, a Description.
- Under Items (in order), click Add item and pick the Item kind:
- Asset: an Asset type, a Model or Any model, and a Count from 1 to 20;
- Software seat: the Software entry;
- Task: a Task title, a Task description, Due (days after start) from 0 to 365 (blank means no due date) and a Default assignee.
- Use Move up and Move down to set the order, and Remove item to drop one.
- Click Save.
A package holds at most 50 items. With at least one package, Start onboarding appears on user profiles. See Onboarding and offboarding runs.

Archive a package
Click Archive. Runs that used it keep referring to it, but it leaves the Start onboarding picker. Tick Show archived to see archived packages.
Offboarding needs no package: AMS derives its steps from what the person holds.
