Maintenance and work orders

Log scheduled and corrective maintenance as work orders, including the ones PM checks raise.

Maintenance lists work orders: scheduled or corrective work on an asset, with who does it, by when and at what cost.

Create a work order

  1. Open Maintenance and click New work order.
  2. Fill in Title, Asset, Severity and Status (open, scheduled, in progress or done).
  3. Pick the Assignee in the picker, and set Due and Cost.
  4. Click Save.

Click a work order to open its page and edit it. Moving it to done closes it.

Work orders AMS creates for you

  • PM checks on an asset type raise a work order when a check falls due. Finishing that work order completes its compliance check. See Asset types.
  • A type's Automations, or an automation rule's Create Work Order action, create one when an alert opens. See Automation rules.

Good to know

  • Work order costs count towards the asset's total cost of ownership.
  • The Dashboard tile Open work orders counts the ones not done.
  • An asset with work orders on record cannot be deleted; dispose of it or return it instead.
  • If the chosen asset was deleted meanwhile, the form says "An asset you chose is no longer available. It may have been moved to Deleted assets."
