What is Asset Management?

What Juvaro Asset Management keeps track of, and which articles to read for your job.

Asset Management (AMS) is your organisation's asset register. It holds the hardware, software and licences you own, who holds each item, where it is, and what needs attention next: renewals, maintenance, disposals and returns.

What AMS keeps track of

  • Assets: every unit you track, from laptops and phones to servers, tools, vehicles and furniture. Each asset belongs to an asset type and a model, and has a unique asset tag.
  • Software: licences and subscriptions, with seats you assign to people.
  • Stock: consumables and bulk items you count by quantity.
  • Maintenance, Leases and Reservations: work orders, lease contracts and bookings of loan equipment.
  • People: the accounts and contacts who hold assets, and the onboarding and offboarding runs (Flows) that hand equipment out and collect it back.
  • Renewals: alerts for warranties, leases, compliance checks, maintenance, software renewals and low stock, raised a set number of days ahead.

AMS is the record other Juvaro products read. Helpdesk links tickets to your assets, and CRM shares customers with AMS. See How Flexshop, Helpdesk and CRM use AMS.

How these articles are written

  • Labels you click or choose look like this: New asset. Field and card names are in bold, for example Assignment & status. A menu path looks like AdministrationDeleted assets.
  • Each task ends with Who can do this: the roles that can do it. See Your role in Asset Management.
  • Pictures are drawn with sample data. Your screens show your own types, names and numbers. Walkthroughs play while they are on screen; use the dots to step through them.
  • Some pages depend on features your administrator switches on. When a menu item is missing, see Feature switches.
